AE86 Tuning Guide: Ultimate Stopping Power!
So you’ve decided which engine combo you want and have more power than you know what to do with.. but how do you slow down from 0.5 past light speed or doing the Kessel run in 12 parsecs?
At the ’07 HR AE86 Annual at Oran Park whilst on the track it was brought to my attention something that was severely lacking on my car, and that was in the brake department. Screaming down the Oran Park straight and trying to stop at the end with stock ADM solid rotors and miniscule calipers is not something I want to do again.

Investing In AE86: Imported Or Local?
Which is better? Buying local, importing a specific Japanese car yourself or buying an already imported AE86?
This is a question faced by many prospective AE86 owners and new AE86 buyers. There are distinct advantages and disadvantages of both so lets get right into it!
NA Vs Forced Induction
Yes its that age old battle which has become increasingly heated as the internet flame wars rage on. And its not just the us AE86’ers either…The NA vs Forced Induction debate has been raging on race tracks and at street meets for a number of years starting early with hot rods and street machines.
The Man Behind DriftKulture
Possibly the most outspoken and in your face person in the Aussie AE86 scene, Beauman Jones, son of legendary hot-rod builder and multiple-time Summernats Champion Mark ‘FAT57‘ Jones, gives HR Blog a few minutes to fill us in on his new project: DriftKulture.
AE86 Tuning Guide: Crazy Conversions!
So we’ve looked at your basic mods, some hard tuned NA, supercharged 4A’s and turbo 4A’s, but what do you do when you want (insert Jeremy Clarkson here…) MOAR POWAHH!?!?!
Well, as the old adage goes ‘There’s no replacement for displacement!’ so what if you want to fit a bigger engine in your AE86? What engines are available? Has it been done before?
Here we will look at what has been done before and what works when it comes to bigger and badder engines!
When The Going Gets Tough
Who is angry, upset or just basically let down? Let down by who? The one we spoke so highly of early this month! Yes that little vixen on four wheels with curves that we drool for! Do you ever get that feeling your car has the personality of a vegan super model feminist who will only put out once a month?
Saxspeed – The Garage Feature Part 1.
A while ago we promised a closer look at some of the cars Finnish Rally Champion Ari Saxberg had built in his frequently snowed-in rally workshop located in the scenic area of Jyvaskyla in southern Finland. The town itself is a mere 3 hours north of Helsinki and that’s where this story takes us. Let’s take a look at the specs on some stunningly prepped rally hachi’s aswell as some great action photos.

But what about all those fantastic cars with new and innovative setups that you don’t always hear about? Well we here at HR have scoured the internet to find them and bring a select few of them to you!
