AE86 Team Drift? Team Mouse
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruQnmoKOGME
Taken from Drift Tengoku – Vol. 46 – Team Mouse are possibly some of the most famous team drifters in Japan. Probably only comparable to the infamous teams T50, Vivian or Soul, Team Mouse hachirokus all have impeccable style and their pilots superior driving skill.
What’s your all-time favourite Japanese AE86 drift team?
Drift Survival AE86 SUPER DRIFT
Some choice grassroots AE86 drifting straight outta Japan from the DRIFT SURVIVAL event in SUNAGAWA on the 22nd of July. Cheers to Ryota Sakaguchi for the video!
Speed? Hunted.
In the middle of the Norwegian summer, Gatebil at Rudskogen sees more than 45000 car enthusiasts from all over Scandinavia, England and even Japan making their way across te world to make this event one of the biggest car festivals in Europe!
Rudskogen is located about 1.5 hours drive south east of Oslo, close to the Swedish border, but that didn’t stop New Zealand’s MadMike Whiddett and Ireland’s Darren McNamara from joining their Norwegian squadmate Fredric Aasbo for the first group smackdown of the Speedhunters super-top-secret drift team.
Hit up the Speedhunters post HERE to see a close up profile of each of the cars and some of the trademark antics of the down-to-earth crew.
What’s Faster: Drift or Grip
The Run Free Levin 2-door piloted by Yamashita gives us a general idea, all while looking cool as hell!

Future Proof: A BEAMS Weapon AE86
This is Sam Futcher’s AE86 Levin. Under the hood you will find none other than the 5th generation Dual VVT-i 3S-GE, or as it’s more commonly known, a BEAMS. This special variant of the 3S engine series is quickly gaining momentum as the engine for those considering conversions.
You see when Toyota needs a kick-ass motor made (like the 4A-G, 2ZZ or 2JZ) it calls upon Yamaha to work their special magic, and the 3S-G engine series is no different. BEAMS is an acronym for Breakthrough Engine with Advanced Mechanism System, referring to the somewhat special dual VVTi system that comes on the ‘Blacktop’ in Sam’s Levin Hatch.

JDMST have just uploaded a new Featured Ride. This time it’s our own Beauman Jones’ head bangin’ SR20DET powered AE86.
Reminiscent..
Asayan tearing up Meihan Sportsland in his awesome AE86 at a HitomiGO drift day back in January 2008. あさやん LOOKING AE86 :: ひとみGO 走行会 2008. Filmed and edited by all-round nice guy Laurence Janus!
Does it remind anyone of a certain ‘hachiroku.mpg’ from long ago of Katsuhiro Ueo in his AE85? Love it!
Taka Aono: A Retrospect
Somewhat fitting after yesterday’s post on the 2010 season of Formula D kicking off, today’s post is a homage to the guy who some might say is the hardest working AE86 driver in the USA: Taka Aono. This video by the AE86-loving DeadPirate crew is a recap of Taka’s season in 2009. Seriously great editing and an awesome soundtrack too.

The Road To Heaven
…would be made like this. What a sweet bunch of corners! If you didnt already guess the star of the show, it’s the awesome-sounding Custom Garage Speed N2 Levin. Who says circuit cars can’t drift?
