All Weather Fighter
You said you wanted more grassroots drift AE86’s in Japan and here at HR blog, we listen. Alexi over @ noriyaro again has the scoop on a local unsung drift hero, this time piloting an AE86.
This three-door Levin belongs to an unassuming bloke by the name of Tadashi Yanagawa. The interesting thing about him is that he can drift as fast in totally wet conditions as he can in the dry. I saw him at a recent track day at Nikko Circuit and had to have a look at his car. Surprisingly, there’s not much more to it than many other AE86s out there, but it’s still pretty damn cool.

Conrad Customises Corollas
We see a lot of smacktalk on the ‘net about what engine conversions are ‘the best’ and what’s done the ‘right way’ or the ‘wrong way’. HR forum member Conrad falls into the category of ‘the best right way’, with his meticulous attention to detail and fantastic metal fabrication work done on the car it’s certainly something to aspire to!
Sporting brands such as AP Racing, Tilton, Longchamp, HKS and Crystal Body Yokohama, it’s certainly going to be a very serious kind of monster! We’ll be sure to keep you updated when the build is completed!
Check out his super-clean work in progress over in the forums.
Manuel Manhao’s Macau GP Levin
Today we have some photos by Aussie-based Irishman Eirecam86 snapped late last year of a very fruity coloured AE86 that now lives in the Macau GP Museum. Driven by Manuel Manhao of Portugal in 1992 and 1993, we don’t know why it’s pink and yellow but it certainly catches your eye! Love your work Eirecam86!

Custom Garage SPEED N2 Levin
One of the many cars at Tokyo Auto Salon 2009, but one of the very few AE86’s, the Custom Garage SPEED N2 Levin certainly looked the piece amongst the millions of yen worth of vehicles on display.
Sitting pretty in its mint bodywork and wearing some of the widest and most dished wheels i’ve ever seen this N2 monster will no doubt be a centrepiece of the 2009 N2 race this August @ Okayama. We can’t wait!

It’s Still Rough Out There
Even though we’ve seen it before, we can always look again! America’s AE86 man Antonio Alvendia is at it again, this time expressing his fanboy lust for the Rough World drift Trueno. Who can blame him? Rough World style is just so f*cking cool! This time he gets intimate with the finer details of the tough circuit beast.
As a drift team, Rough World is like a band of renegade samurai charging through the mountains with “I don’t give a F” attitudes, attacking the local touge roads late at night, stirring fear in the hearts of other drifters that might cross the Rough path; doing battle door to door, with no quarter asked and none given.
So get over there now and check it out.
Rockstar AE86 Wallpaper
Seeing as it’s Toyota month at SPEEDHUNTERS, they have been killin’ it with AE86 content and today is no different.
Paddy McGrath offered to send over this desktop image as his contribution to Toyota Month. Thanks Paddy! Last time I saw Eric O’Sullivan’s Rockstar Energy Drink sponsored AE86, it was being unpeeled from a concrete wall at the Red Bull Drifting World Championship…. The damage looked terminal to my eye, but hopefully the car has been repaired this winter.
Jump over there and check that sh*t out!
Luxembourg Style
In regards the AE86, Europe is a diverse mix of all different styles of modifying. In Germany, the classic “European” styling trend is to take a Levin coupe, make minimal modifications and fit a set of Atiwe or Ronal wheels. On the contrary, in England and Ireland the style is more of a copy of the Japanese trends with each countries little touches thrown in.
It seems somewhere half way between these two points, around the Benelux countries, these styles clashed and the result is something unique. One such car which reflects this perfect combination, taking something from both parts of the world, is this Kouki Levin from Luxembourg.
Clean Cali-Style Levin
Considering the US only ever got Trueno body styled AE86’s, seeing a Levin in America is a pretty special thing. This super fresh example is owned by Club4AG member shannon who has spent the last 2 years bolt-by-bolt restoring this USDM coupe to its current glory.
