#festivalof86 Supported by Hachiroku.com.au!
On August 10 you can meet the man responsible for creating the car we all love – Toyota 86 chief engineer Tetsuya Tada.
Tada-san wants to pass on his personal thanks to everyone who has helped make the car such a massive success.
Toyota is supporting this special 86/AE86 owners event by hosting it at their Sydney HQ, and they’re putting on a sausage sizzle along with A FEW SURPRISES!
Tada-san will be joined on the day by two big Toyota names – four-time national rally champion Neal Bates and national drift champion Beau Yates.
If you are attending #festivalof86 with your AE86/86/BRZ, you need to register your car spot at this website: https://festivalof86.eventbrite.com.au and join the event now on the Hachiroku.com.au Facebook Page.
Only 250 spots available and being taken fast!
86’s and AE86’s are the only cars permitted on the premises. Everyone else will have parking outside the grounds.
RIP: The Local
Here’s local drifter and longtime HR member Beau Jones cutting it up in his SR86 on the last ever drift meet at Oran Park before they bulldoze it all away for new housing developments. Smashing his gearbox early in the day, Beau wasn’t about to pack it up and run home, instead he stuck to going flat chat in only second and third gear for the remainder of the day. It’s a sad day and it will mean the death of one of the best drifting circuits in Sydney and a good amount of Sydney’s drifting trackdays too. If you like what you see (and hear) and want more grassroots Aussie drifting, head over to his website DriftKulture and soak it up.

We met up at Bobbin Head BBQ area among the mountains of smelly children, golf shirts and big sunglasses. We enjoyed a few brews (cokes of course) and some huge snags! Supplied by this months organiser and royal devourer of fish eggs… Adam!

April HR Meet @ HOOTERS Sydney!
Orange short shorts, tasty ribs, NA Power and the war cry of ‘RA RA RA its my birthday’ were what was experienced by all that attended the April monthly meet up Sunday night at the Sydney Hooters restaurant in Parramatta!
Turn up was 7pm sharp, and sharp it was! First crazy i saw was Mr Adam, in his nicely tuned Aussie Sprinter along with him was a sweet looking gunmetal GTV 86 driven by none other then Jun himself! Few others rolled in with that look in their eye that they wanted a fat steak and the sights of some sexy girls.
Our brand new range of HR stickers were out in force as everyone parted with their church change for some slick glitter chrome goodness! More designs and vinyl effects to come so watch the blog for more!
Cars to remember were young Damo’s mint JDM Trueno hatch which is the hotness of hot for the new kids on the block! It’s good to see such eager new 86 owners! Speaking of newbies, the exact opposite definition was the Purple Trueno Coupe owned by old-school hachi disciple and HR blogger Andrew! Yet another hot hot import coupe courtesy of the Irishman in the west!
Food was great! Laughs and company were even better! Hope to see you all at the next one!
Cheers to Kei Pix and Matt Mead Photography for the camera work.
Pics after the jump.

Sydney HR March Meet-Up
BARRRRP!! Was the noise many unaware average citizens heard fly past them on a beautiful Sunday evening. As these unfortunate people were off home to catch the latest episode of the latest shite tv, a select few others were off to the first HR monthly meet up!
The meet was held in a empty car park of an oversized hardware warehouse, therefore the sight many saw as they rolled in, was a small selection of Sydney’s most hardcore AE86’s!
